Are you a cologne guy? When it comes to grooming and fashion, would you rather spend time picking out a trendy new watch or strategizing your Movember facial hair instead selecting a signature fragrance for yourself?
Well, you’re not alone. I’m married to a fabulous soap-and-water guy just like you and he’s offered to try out the new fall men’s fragrances I’m reviewing for Styleguyde.com. He’s even agreed to start wearing one of these fragrances! (Who knew?) Check out his reactions to these trendy new scents below:
From left to right:
Adidas for Men Pure Game Deodorant Body Spray
Him: Is that Axe Body Spray?
Me: No. It’s Adidas. Kind-of looks like it though.
Him: Cool package. I like the aerosol. [Immediately starts spraying Adidas all over the dining room table where we eat dinner.]
Me: So what do you think?
Him: Smells like Jersey Shore.
Me: Oh?! Um, sooooo, is that Jersey-Shore-good or Jersey-Shore-bad?
Him: Jersey Shore good.
My interpretation of his comments: A young and sporty fragrance with cool, easy-to-use and pack aerosol packaging.
Playboy VIP for Him
Him: Playboy? Is that what Hugh Hefner wears?
Me: I doubt it. But you never know.
Him: I don’t want to smell like Hugh Hefner.
Me: I don’t want you to smell like him either. That would be strange. Smell it.
Him: Hmmm… warm and spicy. A little like chocolate? Nice.
My interpretation of his comments: A masculine, warm, sexy fragrance with hint of chocolate (yum!).
GUESS Seductive Homme Blue
Him: Weird cap. It looks good, though. Boxy. I like boxy.
Me: Yeah, it’s very sleek looking.
Him: It’s blue. So is it supposed to smell like the ocean?
Me: Do you think it smells like the ocean?
Him: Definitely oceany. And little spicy.
My interpretation of his comments: A clean, ocean-inspired fragrance with citrus and spice notes. Cool, boxy cap.
Nautica Aqua Rush
Him: Now this one looks like a sail boat.
Me: It totally does. The lid is hard to get off. [I struggle to get the lid off.]
Him: No, it’s not. [He pulls the lid off with no problem whatsoever.]
Me: Oh. Right. So what do you think?
Him: Tangy. Herbal. Oceany.
My interpretation of his comments: A fresh, herbaceous fragrance with lots of citrus. Reminiscent of the sea.
