Today I retire my white and greens. My Wimbledon shoes of summer. Not by choice but rather misfortune. Yes, the soles were a little too caked with irremovable filth. The leather was scuffed and marked beyond what some believed was appropriate but I still loved them. They were butter. Soft, supple and comfortable no matter how long I walked. Sadly, last weekend the inevitable happened…total blowout of the side leather. With great pain I say goodbye to my umpteenth pair of broken in Sambas. I will miss you.
OK the mourning is over. I found my next pair. The white and greens have been forgotten and my next pair will be the maroon and yellows below. The replacements which UPS now has in it’s possession, hopefully to be delivered soon. I guess if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles or Dallas Cowboys fan you might have issues with these beauties but I’m loving the colors for fall. You can pick up a pair at Nordstrom for only $65.
